Full body skin examination

Dermatoscopy of suspicious spots
Suspicious moles or lesions are examined up-close with a dermatoscope — a handheld illuminated magnifier — for a detailed assessment.
Discussion of findings
Dr. Shikrani explains any findings and recommends next steps — whether that's a routine recall, a biopsy, or referral to a dermatologist. Biopsies, excisions and procedures may have separate fees.

Yes. Skin checks at A1 Doctors Surgery are bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders. Bring your valid Medicare card and you'll pay $0 for your skin cancer check.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that's easy to remove. A gown will be provided. The doctor will examine all areas of your body, including your back, scalp, and between your toes — areas that are often missed.
Your GP will discuss findings with you immediately. Options may include monitoring (re-checking at a follow-up), taking a biopsy (a small tissue sample for lab testing), or referral to a dermatologist or skin surgeon for specialist care. Biopsies, excisions and procedures may have separate fees. You'll always be fully informed before any decision.
